What are the steps to creating a well written and meaningful public service announcement or brochure?
Task: What will students be doing, creating, designing, analyzing, solving, planning? What is their job?
Students will research current issues that commonly affect their generation and develop a plan to create awareness. They will then develop a creative way to make others aware of their chosen issue, including possible solutions, in the form of a public service announcement and brochure.
Differentiated Instruction: How will address the specific needs of individual students?
Due to the collaborative nature of this assignment, there will be natural process for those who need additional instruction or guidance as well as students are ready for a greater challenge or enrichment. For example, with the links and resources that are included, there is a variety of resources that are geared for both lower and higher level reading levels. More advanced students will be able to help guide others in both their home groups and their satellite groups.
